Best Word Games for Android

Being a word nerd myself, I have a serious penchant for word games. I'm a Scrabble fanatic and if you are too, then you will probably find something to enjoy in this short list of my all time top picks for Android.

Boggle With Friends

Anyone who has played the old school board game Boggle will already know what this game is about! 

All the same classic fun as you've enjoyed, but play with friends from anywhere around the world.

Wordscapes

Fun word jumble-style game where you have to find all the possible words with the given letter combination until you've filled the crossword grid.

Tons of challenging levels and endless hours of fun.

94 Seconds

94 Seconds is kind of a mix of equal parts word game and trivia game. 

Each round is (you guessed it) 94 seconds long. They give you the starting letter and a category (like vegetables or colors) and you have to take things from there.

Really fun way to waste a ton of time.

Word Wall

This game is so much fun that I had to purchase some of the extra packs because I had made my way through the tons of free ones after a while!

Don't be fooled - this game gets challenging as hell. Best summed up as a word matching and association game.

Puzzly Words

This is a multiplayer game where you can play with Facebook friends or random people. 

Up to 4 players in a room are all given the same set of letters and have a limited amount of time to create words using as many of them as possible.

Really fun and addicting!

Wordbase

This is a really cool idea for a game and I'm glad someone created it because it's tons of fun.

Don't write it off as some kind of word search puzzle, because it's NOT. 

I don't like those and never have. This is a two player game where you and your opponent are trying to connect the letters to make your way to the other side. It's wickedly fun.

Scroodles

Great artwork and graphics, but even better game! 

You are given letters that you must use use strategically similar to how you would in Scrabble. 

Except for in Scroodles, you are on a mission to "erase" all your doodle enemies.  

My only complaint is that I finished all the available levels and want more!

Wordzee

Very fun Scrabble-like word game where you face off against friends or random opponents in instant competitions, if that's more your style. 

Very much like Puzzly Words, but only two players.

AlphaBear 2

An increasingly difficult game where you have to build weird bears out of word boards. 

Pretty fun!

Kryss

Fun and different kind of word game that mixes a puzzle/crossword element into the game.

Use the clues to figure out each word and place your given letters in the appropriate boxes to maximize points and beat your opponent to solving entire words and eventually the whole board.
